Any solicitor, canvasser or itinerant merchant who shall be guilty of any fraud, cheating or misrepresentation, whether through himself or through an employee, while acting as a solicitor in the town, or who shall barter, sell or solicit for any goods or merchandise or wares other than those specified in his registration information shall be punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
