337.31 EXHAUST SYSTEM, TRUCKS WEIGHING MORE THAN 8,000 POUNDS.
   (a)   A truck with a gross vehicular weight of more than 8,000 pounds is prohibited from racing the motor in such a manner that the exhaust system emits a loud, cracking or chattering noise unusual to its normal operation.
   (b)   A truck with a gross vehicular weight of more than 8,000 pounds is prohibited from utilizing compression brakes without proper muffling. This restriction shall not apply to emergency vehicles. (Ord. 2024-01. Passed 7-16-01.)
   (c)   Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
