The Village shall have a Marshal, designated Chief of Police, appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council, and who shall continue in office until removed therefrom as provided by Ohio R.C. 737.171. The Chief need not be a Village resident at the time of his appointment but he shall become a resident within six months thereafter unless such requirement is waived by ordinance. In case of the removal of the Chief of Police of the Village, an appeal may be had from the decision of Council to the Court of Common Pleas to determine the sufficiency of the cause of removal. Such appeal shall be taken within ten days of Council's finding.
