729.01 DEFINITIONS.
   As used in this chapter, except as otherwise provided in Section 729.02:
   (a)    "Canvasser" or "solicitor" means any person, whether a resident of the Village or not, traveling either by foot, wagon, automobile, motor truck or any other type of conveyance, from place to place, from house to house, or from street to street, taking or attempting to take orders in person or by telephone for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise or personal property of any nature whatsoever, for future delivery, or for services to be furnished or performed in the future.
   (b)    "Peddler" means any person, whether a resident of the Village or not, who carries with him for the purpose of sale and immediate delivery from house to house, goods, wares and merchandise.
   (c)    "Cold canvass" means the uninvited telephone contact of a person by a canvasser or solicitor not having a permanent place of business within the Village or for and on behalf of a person not having a permanent place of business within the Village.
   (d)    "Itinerant vendor" or "transient dealer" means any person, either principal or agent, who engages or conducts in the Village a temporary or transient business of selling goods, wares and merchandise, with the intention of continuing in such business for a period of not more than 120 days and who, for the purpose of carrying on such business, hires, leases or occupies either in whole or part a room, building or other structure for the exhibition and sale of such goods, wares and merchandise.
