§ 31.05 SUPERINTENDENT OF UTILITIES.
   (A)   The Superintendent of Public Utilities shall have the general supervision of the entire water and sewer system of the city and electric distribution system of the city.
   (B)   He or she would be required to procure assistance to, but not supervision of, an individual who would be classified as foreperson of streets, parks, and public buildings. He or she would assist the foreperson of streets, parks, and public in enforcing all building codes adopted by the city, and shall assist with such other duties ordinarily undertaken by such an officer, or which are prescribed for him or her by this subchapter or by the laws of the state.
   (C)   While attending such duties, he or she shall, along with foreperson of streets, parks, and public buildings, have all those powers that a city police officer might have in respect to enforcing the ordinances of the city or laws of the state.
   (D)   He or she will have the general supervision, and it shall be his or her duty to provide the necessary care and supervision to keep the streets in good, travelable condition, and to supervise and see that the electric distribution system, water system, and sewer system are in a good state of repair and working condition, and shall have such other duties ordinarily undertaken by such an officer, or which are prescribed for him or her by this subchapter or by the laws of the state.
   (E)   While attending such duties, he or she shall have all those powers that a city police officer might have in respect to enforcing the city or the laws of the state. His or her salary shall be paid mostly as determined by City Council resolution.
