(A) All thoroughfares of the city running south and north, except alleys, shall be called streets; and all thoroughfares running east and west shall be called avenues.
(B) The principal business street of the city, being the only street that is 100 feet in width, shall be known as Main Street; the first street east of Main street shall be known as Washington Street; the second street east of Main Street shall be known as Lincoln Street; the third street east of Main Street shall be known as Franklin Street; the first street west of Main Street shall be known as Jackson Street; and the second street west of Main Street shall be known as Jefferson Street.
(C) The avenues of the city shall be numbered consecutively, beginning with the one farthest north, which shall be known as First Avenue, and from that the avenues shall be numbered consecutively toward the south: third; fourth; and so on.
