(A) (1) It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle on the following streets in excess of the weight stated:

(2) It shall be unlawful to operate a motor vehicle in excess of such weight on the above - described streets, except for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load, in which case that vehicle may be driven on such street for not more than the minimum distance necessary for such purpose.
(B) Penalty. Any person or persons, firm, or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this schedule or who fails to comply with this schedule shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be fined a sum not less than $25 nor more than $200 for each offense and each day's continuance of a failure to comply therewith shall constitute a separate and distinct offense for each of said days.
