The fees to be charged by and paid to the Town Department of Building and Safety for various permits, inspections, licenses, registrations and examinations required by law, and pursuant to all other ordinances, shall be as follows.
(A) Residential; one- and two-family dwellings. The fee calculation shall be as follows: the minimum dollar or square foot cost, whichever is the greater. No permit fee in this division (A) shall exceed $500 for any one project.

(C) Registration and licenses.
(1) The town will require that all contractors doing work in the jurisdiction are to be registered with the town annually. Any contractor who is registered with the County Building Commission/Plan Commission or the City of Peru Building Commissioner will be accepted by the town. The contractor shall provide all applicable documents to the Building Commissioner within 24 hours of request.
(2) Annual or new contractor registration shall be accompanied by a certificate of liability insurance for a minimum of $100,000 coverage and workers’ compensation insurance coverage issued by an insurance company registered to sell insurance in the state.
(3) Contractor registration shall be valid for a term of one year, beginning January 1 and expiring December 31 of the same year and shall be renewed annually at a fee of $25. From July 1, fees will be pro-rated by month.
