It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm, partnership or corporation to conduct, run or operate, or keep for the purpose of conducting, running or operating in any public place in said town, any pool, billiard or Jenny Lind table, roulette, shuffle board, faro, keno bank, nine pin or ten pin alley, wheel of fortune card table, bowling alley or any other table or machine for gaming or playing games without first having procured from the Clerk-Treasurer of the town a license therefor, as provided herein.
