(a) All water users served by the Water Department of a one-inch meter or larger shall be required to have the meters tested in accordance with the approved American National Standards Institute (ANSI)/American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards (C 700-95 thru C-710-96). Copies of the meter test must be provided to the Water Distribution Superintendent at the recommended intervals of the ANSI and AWWA. Should a meter fail to comply with the approved standards, a written request for the repair or replacement of the meter will be issued by the Water Distribution Superintendent to the consumer. The consumer shall have thirty days’ time in which to comply with the written request. The repair or replacement of a water meter must be pre- approved by the Water Distribution Superintendent. Commercial accounts not testing meters according to the recommended ANSI/AWWA standards intervals will have said meter test performed by the City with the charge for said test to be assessed to the consumer’s account. Failure to comply with any or all of this section will result in interruption of service. (Ord. 101-00. Passed 12-19-00.)
(b) All water meters must be accessible during regular business hours Monday through Friday for reading and repair. (Ord. 56-87. Passed 12-1-87.)
(c) Testing of commercial and factory meters shall be assessed to the property owner according to the following schedule:
