913.02 INSTALLATION AND TAPPING FEES; OWNER TO PAY.
   (a)    All service connections must be metered.

   (b)   All service connections from the main line to the curb shall be furnished and installed by the Utility Service Superintendent at the cost of the property owner according to the following schedule:

   (c)    All service connections from the curb box to the water meter shall be furnished and installed by the property owner and at his cost and expense.
   (d)   In the event that the service connection from the main line to the curb box or water line extension requires the crossing of any street, road, alley or public driveway, the City shall determine the method used to cross said roadway either being open-cut excavation or boring under said roadway. The City may further require any additional requirements that would be necessary to secure or protect the roadway and the service connection or water line extension. The property owner or owners requesting the service shall be responsible for any costs associated with crossing of said road. Prior to any installation of any water line taps, the applicant must request written permission of the City before crossing any street, road, alley or public driveway. The City will elect if the applicant is permitted to bore the lateral under said roadway or is permitted open-cut excavation through said roadway. The City may direct the applicant to take any additional requirements as are necessary to secure or protect the water line lateral or water line tap. The same bond requirement is required for both forms of installation. All excavations herein permitted shall be closed in the manner prescribed and the materials approved by the Service-Safety Director, and within five days from the time that such excavation was started, unless an extension of time is secured from the Director for good cause shown.
   (e)   Tap fees for customers outside the City limits of Bucyrus shall be a 3/4 or 1 inch line only and shall be assessed according to the following schedule:
      (1)   A one-time fee of $2,500.00
      (2)   A $500.00 down payment and 12 monthly payments of $179.00 for a total payment of $2,647.00
      (3)   A $500.00 down payment and 24 monthly payments of $96.00 for a total payment of $2,804.00. (Ord. 28-2018. Passed 7-17-18.)
