5-5-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement of the chapter:
INOPERABLE MOTOR VEHICLE: A. A motor vehicle which has to be licensed and registered, i.e., automobile, truck, motorcycle, motorized camper, which for at least one month, the engine, wheels, or other parts have been removed, altered, damaged, or otherwise so treated that the vehicle is incapable of being used as designed.
   B.   A motor vehicle is deemed to be inoperable if either of the following occurs:
1. No valid registration is issued for said vehicle for a period of one month.
2. No movement of the vehicle under its own power for a period of at least one month if such registration is necessary for the operation on a street or highway.
   C.   "Inoperable motor vehicle" shall not include a motor vehicle which, in order to perform ordinary service or repair operations, has been rendered temporarily incapable of being used as designed for a period not to exceed one month, and any vehicle that has been completely covered over by a proper covering, i.e., tarp, etc.
PROPERTY: Any real property within the Village which is not a street or highway.
STREET OR HIGHWAY: The entire width between the boundary lines of every way publicly maintained when any part thereof is open to the use of the public for the purposes of vehicular travel.
VEHICLE: A machine propelled by power other than human power designed to travel along the ground by use of wheel, and transport persons or property or pull machinery and shall include, without limitation, automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, and motorized campers. (Ord. 02-2, 5-14-2002; amd. 2018 Code)
