For the purpose of this chapter, the term "solicitor" or "peddler" shall not include any person engaged in the following activities:
A. Seeking to obtain contributions on behalf of any charitable, religious, civic, local fire or police auxiliary, school or scouting organization or any other not for profit organization in good standing in the State;
B. Seeking to obtain signatures to petitions on political or public policy questions or matters; or
C. Seeking to conduct any of the activities enumerated in section 4-4-1 of this chapter when undertaken by any person pursuant to a previous appointment or invitation of the party being conducted. (1987 Code § 3-5-2)
