(a) In the event of a violation of any section of this chapter, the Mayor shall give notice to the owner, occupant or person having charge of the premises upon which the violation occurs to cease such violation. Such notice shall be in writing and shall be served upon the owner, occupant or person having charge of the premises either personally by a member of the Police Department, or at the usual place of residence of such owner, occupant or person having charge of such premises by registered or certified mail addressed to such person's last place of residence.
(b) If the person served with the notice as provided in subsection (a) hereof fails to cause such violation to cease within ten (10) days of the date upon which the notice was issued, he shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 501.99, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed upon each and every day during or on which the violation occurs or continues beyond such ten-day period. However, no additional notice of violation is required to be given for such subsequent days.
(c) The Mayor may designate one or more city officers or employees to assist in carrying out the provisions of this Section. Such person or persons shall be so designated in writing and confirmed by the Mayor. The designated person or persons shall have the same authority as the Mayor in carrying out the provisions of this Section.
