(a) Any person between the ages of eighteen and forty shall be eligible for original appointment to the Fire Department.
(b) The term original appointment shall apply only to a person who is not currently working for the Fire Department in a part-time capacity but who wishes to work for the Fire Department. Regardless of age, anyone who is currently working for the Fire Department in a part-time capacity as a volunteer may take the civil service test and undertake any other requirements to determine that person’s eligibility to work for the Fire Department.
