All cost and expenses incident to the installation and connection of a building sewer shall be borne by the owner. The owner shall save the City harmless from any loss or damage that may directly or indirectly be occasioned by the installation of the building sewer.
(a) Supplemental Information. The City of Bryan will perform all work within the rights-of-ways or easements. The owner is responsible for the taps from the right-of-way or easement to the structure. New subdivision or sewer projects will continue to be assessed the property owners. Sewer and water lines are not allowed to share the same trench. All greywater (washing machine into a sump pump) must go to the sanitary sewer. Sump pumps without greywater must connect directly to a storm sewer or the City Engineer may give permission for the water to surface discharge.
(b) Fee Information.
Inspection fee shall be $100.00.
Tap fees shall be broken down as follows:
• $200 for the insert-a-tee tap to the mainline;
• Additional $300 to install tap across a terrace or easement;
• Additional $500 per lane crossed to install tap through pavement (road) areas.
Existing tap repairs will incur an inspection fee only for repairs inside and/or outside of the easement or right-of-way, including private service taps.
New taps for a lot without a tap shall incur tap fees as noted above.
Storm sewer tap fees where no tap exists will receive a 50% cost reduction to promote separation, but the inspection fee shall remain full price.
