248.03 OATH.
   Any person appointed to any position in the Division of Police shall take an oath stating that he will enforce faithfully the laws of the State and the ordinances of the City and obey the orders of his superiors to the best of his ability, that he has never been convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude and that he is not at the time of taking such oath, and never has been, a member of any organization advocating the overthrow of the government of the United States by force or violence. Any untruthful statement made in the course of application for appointment to the Division shall be grounds for denial of such appointment or summary dismissal from any position in the Division held by the person making such statement.
