(a) There is hereby established the combined office of Building and Zoning Inspector, in such numbers as Council shall determine. The Building and Zoning Inspectors are hereby authorized to issue citations for any violation of the Building and Zoning Codes.
(b) The Building and Zoning Inspectors shall enforce the Building and Zoning Codes, shall issue all building and zoning permits and shall collect all fees for their issuance. They shall account for such funds to the proper authority of the City. They shall keep all records and shall perform such other duties as are established by Council pertaining to the Building and Zoning Codes. (Adopting Ordinance)
(c) The Building and Zoning Inspectors shall report to the Chief Building Official or designee. The Chief Building Official or designee shall prescribe all rules and regulations to be followed by the Building and Zoning Inspectors not in conflict with any ordinance of the City. The Building and Zoning Inspectors shall be subject to all the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission of the City and shall be in the classified service.

(d) The Building and Zoning Inspectors shall give bond in the sum of five thousand dollars ($5,000), acceptable to the Director of Law.
