(a) The duties and authority of the Clerk of Council shall be those prescribed by law, as well as administrative assistant to the Mayor and such additional duties and authority as may be conferred upon the Clerk of Council.

(b) The Clerk of Council shall give bond in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) in the manner provided by law.
(c) The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to select a part-time employee, upon confirmation by the majority of the members of Council, who shall be under the Clerk’s direction and who shall perform such tasks as directed by the Clerk or as requested by the members of Council.
