Every applicant for a license to maintain, operate or conduct a massage establishment shall file an application under oath with the City, upon a form provided by the Chief Building Official, and pay a non-refundable annual license fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per year or any part thereof. Once accepted, the application shall be investigated by the Police Department, which investigation shall include criminal record checks of the applicant, any person with an interest in the massage establishment and any persons employed or to be employed as massagists. Copies of the application shall, within five days of receipt, be referred to the Division of Building and Division of Fire and Rescue, who shall, within thirty days, make written verification to the Chief Building Official concerning compliance of the massage establishment with applicable law.
