1464.03 CONSTRUCTION METHODS AND MATERIALS.
   Any fence constructed in the City shall be constructed of masonry, concrete, steel, wood, aluminum or plastic of any type:
(a)    All fences that weigh twenty-five pounds or more per linear foot shall be required to install a continuous eight inch wide by thirty-six inch deep footer.
(b)    The structural posts of fences (horizontal and vertical), other structural supports of fences and other devices used to mark or establish boundary lines around or within the property line, shall be erected on the side of the property being fenced.
(c)    The structural post of a fence shall be buried thirty-six inches minimum, surrounded with concrete at a thickness of two inches minimum. A split rail type fencepost will not be surrounded with concrete and need not meet the 36" depth requirement. Wood species for fence and post are to be oak, pressure treated poplar, locust or wolmanized pine and have prior approval by a building official before the issuance of a permit.
(d)    No agricultural fencing material or any metal under eleven (11) gauge shall be used.
