(a) No person shall discharge any air gun, rifle, shotgun, revolver, pistol or other firearm within the corporate limits of the Municipality. This section does not apply to police officers in their line of duty, persons exempted elsewhere in this General Offenses Code, persons exempted elsewhere in the Codified Ordinances or persons exempted upon the prior written approval of the Safety Director.

(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of discharging firearms, a misdemeanor of the second degree. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
