648.11 PICKETING.
   (a)   Definition. For purposes of this section "picketing" means being or remaining on or in the vicinity of any premises or vehicle, whether upon a public street or highway or not, for the purpose of participating in a public demonstration intended to influence any member of the public or the owner, operator or tenant of such vehicle or premises to take or refrain from any action or to protest any action or failure to act.
   (b)   Lawful Picketing. No person shall picket any premises or vehicle within the City at any place closer than 200 feet to a building occupied for residential purposes or in any way which tends to result in any persuasion other than peaceful persuasion of or demonstration to members of the public.
   (c)   Obstructing Traffic. No person engaged in picketing shall obstruct or interfere with any person traveling upon any public street, highway or ground or entering or leaving the picketed premises, and no such person shall remain in any group of persons so numer ous or so located as to make it difficult or dangerous to travel on any public street or highway or portion thereof or to enter or leave the picketed premises, whether or not anyone actually attempts to so travel, enter or leave.
   (d)   Disturbing the Peace. No person engaged in picketing shall disturb the public peace or good order by shouting, quarreling or producing noise by any means, mechanical or otherwise.
   (e)   Threats; Violence. No person engaged in picketing shall use any threatening, abusive, profane or indecent language or gesture or have in his possession or in any vehicle under his control or remain in any vehicle in which there is situated, any weapon, any device for liberating gas or stench or any intoxicating liquor.
   (f)   Penalty. Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02 .
