(a) No person distributing handbills, circulars or other advertisements shall ring the doorbell, sound the door knocker or otherwise call the inhabitants of any residence to the door for the purpose of receiving such handbill, circular or other advertisement which he or any person with him may be distributing. (b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of distributing handbills at residences, a minor misdemeanor. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
