606.28 RECOVERY OF COST OF CRIMINAL CONFINEMENT.
   (a)   The City shall enter into such agreements as are necessary to provide for the expenses of sustaining all persons sentenced to or confined in the Medina County Jail.
   (b)   Any person convicted of a criminal offense other than a minor misdemeanor and who, as a consequence thereof, is confined in the Medina County Jail, shall reimburse the City for its expenses incurred by reason of his or her confinement, including, but not limited to, the expenses relating to the provision of food, clothing, medical care and shelter.
   (c)   Council hereby authorizes the City Director of Law, Assistant Director of Law or Assistant Prosecutor, to institute an appropriate civil action in the name of the City in the Court of Common Pleas, Medina County, to recover from the convict, the total or partial reimbursement for expenses of his confinement in the Medina County Jail as determined by the Court pursuant to Ohio R.C. 2929.15.
   (d)   Any amounts received under this section shall be paid into the treasury of the City.
