§ 50.03 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   ABANDONED VEHICLE.
      (1)   A vehicle from which there has been removed the engine, transmission, or differential, or that is otherwise partially dismantled or inoperable.
      (2)   A vehicle that is six or more model years old and mechanically inoperable.
   CLERK-TREASURER. The duly elected and acting clerk-treasurer of the town, or its duly appointed and acting deputy.
   GARBAGE. Putrescible animal solid or semisolid waste, or putrescible vegetable solid or semisolid waste resulting from the processing, handling, preparing, cooking, serving, or consuming of food or food materials.
   MAY. The act referred to is permissive.
   PERSON. An individual, partnership, co-partnership, firm, company, corporation, association, joint stock company, trust, estate, municipal corporation, city, school city, town, school town, school district, school corporation, county, any consolidated unit of government, political subdivision, state agency, or any other legal entity.
   PREMISES. Any building, residence, structure, vacant lot, or tract of land.
   PUTRESCIBLE WASTE. Any substance which is subject to organic decomposition.
   RUBBISH. All non-putrescible combustible or noncombustible solid waste including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: ashes, cans, metal, glass, plastic, crockery, dirt, paper, cardboard, wood, leaves, grass, yard clippings, inoperable appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, toilets, sinks, tubs, and showers, construction debris, bedding, and broken or torn articles of personal property of no appreciable value, but not including abandoned vehicles.
   SHALL. The act referred to is mandatory.
   SOLID WASTE. All putrescible and non-putrescible solid and semi-solid waste including garbage, rubbish, dead animals, offal, solid commercial waste, solid industrial waste, and solid institutional waste, but does not include abandoned vehicles.
   VEHICLE. An automobile, motorcycle, truck, trailer, semitrailer, tractor, bus, school bus, recreational vehicle, or motorized bicycle.
