§ 94.19 KEEPING WILD ANIMALS; EXCEPTIONS.
   (A)   Keeping wild animals. No person shall keep or permit to be kept on his or her premises any wild animal for any purpose, except as provided in this section. This section shall not be construed to apply to zoological parks, circuses, animal exhibitions, research laboratories, licensed wildlife rehabilitators, or licensed educators.
   (B)   Exceptions. Any person owning a wild animal prior to the enactment of this chapter shall be permitted to continue ownership of the animal; provided, that he or she registers the animal with the Town Council within six weeks after enactment of this chapter. A copy of this registration must be kept by the owner/guardian for as long as the person owns the animal as evidence of possession of the animal prior to the enactment of this chapter.
