§ 40.16 POLICE DEPARTMENT FEES FOR OTHER SERVICES.
   (A)   Fee for accident reports. The Police Department may charge the sum of five dollars ($5) for each accident report it furnishes.
   (B)   Fee for fingerprinting cards.
      (1)   Fingerprinting services provided by the Police Department.   
         (a)   The Police Department provides fingerprinting services to the general public during regular business hours.
         (b)   Citizens who request fingerprints may either provide the Federal Bureau of Investigations FD-258 fingerprint card or it can be provided to them by the Police Department.
         (c)   Citizens must provide state-issued photo identification.
      (2)   Fee.
         (a)   Citizens residing in the corporate limits of the Town may receive one (1) completed fingerprint card free of charge, per visit, upon proof of residency.
         (b)   Additional cards can be purchased at the rate of five dollars ($5) per card.
         (c)   Persons residing outside of the corporate Town will be charged five dollars ($5) for each card completed per visit.
         (d)   Fingerprinting performed in conjunction with gun permit application services is not charged as other fees are collected in accordance with the procedures relating to that service.
         (e)   The fees collected shall be turned over to the Clerk-Treasurer's office daily to be deposited into the Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund (LECEF) for the Police Department.
   (C)   Fee for criminal history reports.
      (1)   Criminal history reports provided by the Police Department.
         (a)   The Police Department provides a local criminal history for the person making the request check.
         (b)   Persons must appear at the Police Department to obtain the information, and must provide a valid state-issued photo identification.
         (c)   A governmental or law enforcement agency or contracted agency representing the same may make requests by fax, mail or email if the request is accompanied by a release form signed by the person on who the check is being performed.
         (d)   Pursuant to I.C. 10-13-3-30, the Police Department shall redact information so that the only information released or inspected is information that has been requested and is limited criminal history information.
      (2)   Fee.
         (a)   The Police Department shall assess and collect a five dollar ($5) fee for each criminal background check performed for individuals of the general public.
         (b)   However, there will be no charge to another governmental unit or law enforcement agency.
         (c)   The fees collected shall be turned over to the Clerk-Treasurer's office daily to be deposited into the Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund (LECEF) for the Police Department.
