A fee of twenty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($27.50) or five percent (5%) [but not exceeding two hundred fifty dollars ($250)], according to state law, will be charged by the Town of Brownsburg for each check returned because of non-payment for any reason. This fee is in addition to any charges assessed by any bank, which charges will be added to the fee charged by the Town. The Town retains the right to refuse to accept a check from any individuals with more than one (1) returned check incident.
