(A) Determination of destination. The patient will be transported to an emergency facility as the family doctor directs, if he has been contacted, or, in the event of serious illness or injury, the personnel on the ambulance shall make a determination either by their own evaluation of the situation or by contact with a hospital, which shall determine to which medical facility the patient is to be taken.

(B) Transportation to nearest facility. Inasmuch as the services provided for in this chapter are of an emergency nature only, the Town shall transport a patient to the nearest medical facility where proper medical treatment is available.
