§ 31.31 POLICE RESERVES.
   (A)   Police reserves authorized. The Town may have reserve policemen.

   (B)   Number of police reserves. The number of police reserves shall be not more than fifteen (15) in number.

   (C)   Appointments. The police reserves shall be appointed by the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners.

   (D)   Designation. Those persons appointed as police reserves shall be designated by the name “Reserve Policeman.”

   (E)   Powers and regulations. Those persons appointed as reserve policemen may not be members of the regular police force, but shall have all of the same police powers of the members of the regular police force except as may be limited by the rules of their department.

   (F)   Rules adopted. The Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners is authorized to adopt any rules as they may deem necessary to limit the authority of the reserve policemen.

   (G)   Pension rights. Those persons appointed as reserve policemen may not participate in any pension program provided for regular members of the department.

   (H)   Uniform allowance. The reserve policemen may receive a uniform allowance in an amount as the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners may determine, and as may be approved in the annual budget for the Town.

   (I)   Compensation. Reserve policemen may receive compensation for the time lost from other employment because of court appearances necessitated by activities performed within the scope of their duties as reserve policemen.

   (J)   Insurance. Reserve policemen may be insured for life, accident and sickness coverage under the Town's insurance program as authorized by the policies of the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners.

   (K)   Training. No reserve policeman shall be appointed until he has completed the training and probationary period specified by rule of the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners.
