§ 31.20 FIREFIGHTER COMPENSATION AND RETIREMENT BENEFITS.
   (A)   Compensation. Each of the firefighters of the Fire Department shall be paid an annual salary which shall be determined by the Fire Territory, with recommendations from the Board of Fire Commissioners and the Fire Chief. The firefighter salaries shall be outlined in the annual salary ordinance. In addition, firefighters shall be provided with all insurance benefits commensurate with those insurance benefits provided to all Town employees. The Fire Territory and the Board of Fire Commissioners reserve the right to review and adjust the annual salary of the firefighters as conditions merit.

   (B)   Retirement benefits. Retirement benefits shall be limited to participation in the Indiana Public Employee Retirement Fund or the 1977 Police Officers' and Firefighters' Pension and Disability Fund. There shall be no other pension or retirement benefits provided to the firefighters by the Fire Territory or the Town's benefit package.
