§ 31.17 FIREFIGHTERS.
   (A)   Firefighter positions created. It is necessary and advisable to provide for the positions of Fire Department firefighter for the Brownsburg Fire Territory. The number of positions shall be determined by the members of the Fire Territory with recommendations from the Fire Commission, and the number of positions shall be outlined in the annual salary ordinance. For the purpose of this subchapter, FIREFIGHTER shall be defined as a full-time employee of the Brownsburg Fire Territory.

   (B)   Orders and directions. The firefighters of the Fire Department shall be subordinate to and shall obey the orders and directions of the Fire Territory, the Board of Fire Commissioners, and the Fire Chief.

   (C)   Hours of duty. The firefighters of the Fire Department shall be on duty not more than two hundred twelve (212) hours per twenty-eight day (28-day) cycle, as provided by 29 CFR 553 and as established by the U.S. Department of Labor, at the discretion and direction of the Fire Chief.
