§ 30.03 COUNCIL DISTRICTS.
   (A)   The Council divides the Town into five (5) districts for the purpose of conducting elections of Town officers:
      (1)   District 1 (Ward 1). Beginning at the point of intersection of Conrail Railroad and North County Road 625 East, and proceeding easterly along Conrail RR to a line extended 90° (ninety degrees) west from the centerline of the Fountain Drive cul-de-sac, then east along said line (corresponding to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632102013012), and proceeding northerly along Fountain Drive to Mikal Lane, and proceeding easterly along Mikal Lane to Morningside Drive, and proceeding southerly along Morningside Drive to Darby Lane, and proceeding northerly along Darby Lane to Timber Lane, and proceeding northerly along Timber Lane to Stoneybrook Drive, and proceeding easterly along Stoneybrook Drive to North Green Street, and proceeding southerly along North Green Street to East 56th Street, and proceeding easterly along East 56th Street to North Grant Street, and proceeding southerly along North Grant Street to Conrail Railroad, and proceeding westerly along Conrail Railroad to North Jefferson Street, and proceeding southerly along North Jefferson Street to East Main Street, and proceeding easterly along East Main Street to the Brownsburg Town line, and proceeding southerly along the Brownsburg town line to East County Road 400 North, and proceeding westerly along East County Road 400 North to Hornaday Road, and proceeding northerly along Hornaday Road to Sycamore Street, and proceeding westerly along Sycamore Street to South Grant Street, and proceeding northerly along South Grant Street to East Tilden Road, and proceeding westerly along East Tilden Road to West Tilden Road, and proceeding westerly along West Tilden Road to the Brownsburg Town line, and proceeding northerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly to North County Road 625 East, and proceeding northerly along North County Road 625 East to the point of beginning.
      (2)   District 2 (Ward 2). Beginning at the point of intersection of North Green Street and East 56th Street, and proceeding northerly along North Green Street to State Road 267, and proceeding northerly along State Road 267 to a point immediately south of the east-bound entrance ramp to I-74, then east along a line to Muirfield Drive, then continuing east along that line, which corresponds to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632101062019, then northerly along said boundary to the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line easterly, southerly and northerly to Crawfordsville Road, and proceeding westerly along Crawfordsville Road to East Main Street, and proceeding westerly along East Main Street to North Jefferson Street, and proceeding northerly along North Jefferson Street to Conrail Railroad, and proceeding easterly along Conrail Railroad to North Grant Street, and proceeding northerly along North Grant Street to East 56th Street, and proceeding westerly along East 56th Street to the point of beginning.
      (3)   District 3 (Ward 3). Beginning at the point of intersection of the western edge of the retaining pond opposite Odell Street, which corresponds to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632101051022, then continuing northerly along that boundary, then westerly and northwesterly along said boundary to the Brownsburg Town line, then proceeding northerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line westerly, northerly and easterly to West Tilden Road, and proceeding easterly along West Tilden Road to East Tilden Road, and proceeding easterly along East Tilden Road to South Grant Street, and proceeding southerly along South Grant Street to Sycamore Street, and proceeding easterly along Sycamore Street to Hornaday Road, and proceeding southerly along Hornaday Road to East County Road 300 North, and proceeding westerly along East County Road 300 North to the point of beginning.
      (4)   District 4 (Ward 4). Beginning at the intersection of State Road 267 and Stoneybrook Drive and proceeding westerly along Stoneybrook Drive to Timber Lane, and proceeding northerly along Timber Lane to Darby Lane, and proceeding southerly along Darby Lane to Morningside Drive, and proceeding westerly along Morningside Drive to Mikal Lane, and proceeding westerly along Mikal Lane to Fountain Drive, and proceeding southerly along Fountain Drive to a line extended 90° (ninety degrees) west from the centerline of the Fountain Drive cul-de-sac, then west along said line corresponding to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632102013012 to Conrail Railroad, and proceeding westerly along Conrail Railroad to North County Road 625 East, and proceeding southerly along North County Road 625 East to the Brownsburg Town line, and proceeding southerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line westerly, southerly, easterly and northerly to the point of intersection with a line which corresponds to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632101062019, then southerly along that boundary, then west along that boundary to Muirfield Drive, then continuing west along that line to a point immediately south of the east-bound entrance ramp to I-74, then southerly along State Road 267 to the point of beginning.
      (5)   District 5 (Ward 5). Beginning at the point of intersection of the western edge of the retaining pond opposite Odell Street, which corresponds to the boundary of 2020 census block 180632101051022, then continuing northerly along that boundary, then westerly and northwesterly along said boundary to the Brownsburg Town line, then proceeding westerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line southerly, easterly, northerly, and westerly until the intersection with North County Road 1000 East and Crawfordsville Road, and proceeding westerly along Crawfordsville Road to the Brownsburg Town line, and proceeding southerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following the Brownsburg Town line easterly, southerly, westerly and northerly until the intersection with North County Road 900 East and East County Road 400 North and proceeding westerly along East County Road 400 North to Hornaday Road, and proceeding southerly along Hornaday Road to East County Road 300 North, and proceeding westerly along East County Road 300 North to the Brownsburg Town line, and proceeding southerly along the Brownsburg Town line, then following along the Brownsburg Town line westerly and northerly returning to East County Road 300 North, and proceeding westerly along East County Road 300 North to the to the point of beginning.
   (B)   If any part of the Town is not included in one (1) of the districts established by this section, that territory shall be included within the district that:
      (1)   Is contiguous to that territory; and
      (2)   Contains the least population (as determined by the most recent census) of all districts that are contiguous to that territory.
   (C)   If any part of the Town is included in more than one (1) of the districts established by this section, that territory shall be included within the district that:
      (1)   Is in one (1) of the districts in which the territory is described in this section;
      (2)   Is contiguous to that territory; and
      (3)   Contains the least population (as determined by the most recent census) of all districts that are contiguous to that territory.
   (D)   The Council adopts the maps, as seen in Appendix A: Town District Maps, at the end of this chapter, depicting the districts established under this section (one without street names, one with street names), and incorporates the maps by reference into this section. Two (2) copies of this map are on file in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer for public inspection as required by I.C. 36-1-5-4. If a conflict exists between the districts as depicted on the map and as described in this section, the description in this section shall prevail.
   (E)   The Clerk-Treasurer shall forward a signed copy of Ordinance 2022-28 to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Hendricks County and shall request the Clerk to include the copy of Ordinance 2022-28 in the records of the Hendricks County Election Board.
