931.08 PERMIT REQUIRED TO TURN STOPCOCK, HYDRANT, OR VALVE.
   No person without a written permit from the Municipal Manager is allowed to turn a stopcock, hydrant, or valve other than as provided in the Rules and Regulations governing Plumbers, excepting members of the Fire Division in the performance of their duties. In case trouble occurs between the main and the stop and waste, or in the meter, the Municipal Manager should be called. If the trouble is beyond the meter, the stop and waste should be shut off and a plumber called. (Ord. 359. Passed 3-16-71.)
931.09 TAPPING PERMIT.
   In order to have water service installed in any premise, a tapping permit must be secured in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000) at the City Manager's Office, setting forth the City lot and street number. Then a permit must be taken out and a service signed for at the office of the Dayton Division of Building Inspection of the Department of Service and Buildings by a duly licensed plumber.
   The tap permit fee for water service installed shall start and be in effect for all water tap permits pulled after January 1, 2025.

931.10 FIRE PROTECTION CONNECTIONS; APPLICATION; REPORT.
   (a)    Applications for fire protection connections shall be made in the regular way, and no connections shall be made ahead of the meter without written permission from the Municipal Manager. In the application for fire line connections, the property owner shall agree to install, at his own expense, any fire line meters which the Municipal Manager may require at some later date. All fire line connections shall be sealed by the Municipal Manager, and notification shall be sufficient ground for discontinuing fire line service until line is metered at the expense of the owner.
   (b)    All persons having fire line connections must submit to the Municipal Manager a report giving the number of sprinkler heads, hydrants, cisterns, and other connections to the City water lines. (Ord. 359. Passed 3-16-71.)
