(A) Any person who is an itinerant merchant, peddler, or solicitor shall obtain a permit before engaging in such activity within the municipality.
(B) Before any permit shall be issued under the provisions of this chapter, the applicant therefor shall pay a fee, based upon the duration he or she desires to engage in business in the town, as follows.

Per month | $25 |
Per three months | $50 |
Per six months | $75 |
Per 12 months | $100 |
(C) No permit issued under this chapter shall be transferrable.
(D) All permits issued under this chapter shall expire at dusk on the last day of the permit term.
