(a) No person shall:
(1) Carry on or about his or her person:
A. Any knife or knives with a blade or blades in excess of two and one-half inches in length; or
B. Any knife or knives having the appearance of a pocket knife, the blade of which can be opened by the flick of a button, pressure on the handle, or other mechanical device.
(2) Sell, offer for sale or display any knife or knives described in subsection (a) hereof.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of unlawful possession or unlawful sale of knives or switchblades, a misdemeanor of the second degree, and shall be subject to the penalty provided in Section 698.02.
