The Mayor shall be elected for a term of four (4) years by a direct vote of the people at the regular Village election. The current term of the Mayor is extended through December 31, 2000. Any candidate for the office of Mayor must be a resident of the Village for three (3) consecutive years immediately prior to the election and shall continue to be a resident during the term of office.
