258.07   NONRESIDENT SERVICE.
   (a)   Pursuant to Ohio R.C. 737.041, the Police Department may provide police protection to any county, municipality or township, or to the State, without a contract to provide police protection, upon the approval, by resolution, of Council, and upon authorization by an officer or employee of the Police Department providing the police protection, who is designated by title of office or position, pursuant to said resolution, to give the authorization.
   (b)   Police officers acting, as provided in this section, outside the Village, shall be entitled to participate in any pension or indemnity fund established by the Village to the same extent as while acting within the Village. Said officers shall also be entitled to all the rights and benefits of Ohio R.C. Chapter 4123 to the same extent as while performing services within the Village.
