Any person, persons or corporation, operating or attempting to operate, any theater, exhibition, circus or other public show, without a license shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $25 and costs of prosecution or by imprisonment in the county jail or the city jail not exceeding ten days, or by both the fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court, and each day’s violation thereof shall be considered a separate offense.
