(A) No person shall own or harbor a fierce or vicious animal. All animals found to be vicious shall be destroyed, unless otherwise disposed of by the owner.
(B) Whenever an animal taken into custody by the County Animal Control Officer or the City Police Department for having bitten a person, the Animal Control Officer or the Police Department may, if deemed necessary and advisable, and after holding the animal a sufficient length of time to meet the requirements of the Health Officer for investigation cause the animal to be destroyed as a vicious animal. Unless waived in writing, notice of intent to so destroy the animal shall be given to the owner, if known.
