(A) Where permitted. Where a connection to the system is not available under the provisions of § 52.07(D), the building sewer shall be connected to a private disposal system complying with all requirements of the County Health Department.
(B) When public sewer becomes available. At a time as the system becomes available to a property served by a private disposal system, as provided in § 52.07(D), a direct connection shall be made to the sanitary sewer in compliance with this chapter. Any septic tank cesspool or similar private disposal system shall be abandoned, pumped out and filled with clean sand.
(C) Operation and maintenance. The owner of the private disposal system shall operate and maintain the private disposal system in a sanitary manner at all times, at no expense to the city.
(D) Additional requirements. A person operating and maintaining a private disposal system pursuant to this section shall comply with any additional requirements that may be imposed by the Michigan Department of Public Health or the MDEQ.
