Members of the Fire Department shall be appointed by the Council upon the recommendation of the fire company, and each firefighter so appointed shall within ten days thereafter file with the Clerk/Treasurer his or her acceptance of the appointment or otherwise the appointment shall become null and void. Upon the acceptance being filed, the Clerk/Treasurer shall issue a certificate of the appointment.
