(A) All mailboxes damaged by city snow plows will be repaired and/or replaced by the city with a standard city mailbox. In lieu of replacement, residences may be reimbursed as to the costs of the city's replacement mailbox to purchase the mailbox of their choice. Such reimbursement may include up to one hour labor at the current service worker 1st class labor rate plus pension and Medicare. The city will not install mailboxes purchased by residents.
(B) Any resident who does not want the standard mailbox or the city reimbursement may request that their claim be submitted to the city's insurance carrier. If submitted to the city's insurance carrier, the insurance company's decision regarding repair/reimbursement shall be final.
