§ 1440.17 RIGHT OF ENTRY; CREDENTIALS.
    (A)   The Building Commissioner, or his or her designee, is authorized to enter a structure or premises at reasonable times to inspect or to perform the duties imposed by this Code, provided credentials are presented to the occupant and that entry is requested and obtained. Where permission to enter has not been obtained, is denied, or the Building Commissioner has probable cause to believe that there exists in a structure or upon a premises a condition which is a serious hazard, the Building Commissioner shall have the recourse to the remedies provided by law to secure entry.
   (B)   Before entering upon a premises, or while on a premises in the performance of his or her duties in the enforcement of this Code, the Building Commissioner or his or her authorized representative shall show his or her credentials upon request by the owner of the premises involved or by the contractor performing work on said premises.
