(A) Employees covered by this chapter shall receive coverage consistent with coverage provided other full-time employees of the city, and under the terms and conditions as Council may provide.
(B) Employees covered by this chapter shall contribute either 5% of the monthly medical insurance premiums up to a maximum of $40 per month for family coverage or 5% of the monthly medical insurance premiums up to a maximum of $20 per month for single coverage. If the city is able to obtain coverage through a health maintenance organization, the employee may have the option of choosing the HMO coverage. If the cost for the HMO coverage is below 95% of the premium costs for the coverage under the city's non-HMO plan, no contribution will be required for medical insurance premiums. If the premium costs for the HMO are above 95% of the premium costs for non-HMO plan, the employee will be required to contribute as stated above.
