§ 1346.03 PRE-BID MEETING.
During the bidding period, a pre-bid meeting may be held including prospective bidders, the CE, DPE and Service Director at a minimum. Other agencies and/or parties may be also requested to do so by the DOE. The purpose of this meeting is to encourage face to face discussion regarding plan intent and any areas of concern prior to bid opening. This meeting is strongly recommended for complex, large and high impact projects. Often, this meeting will result in plan addendum that could have resulted in change orders and/or claims after the project has been bid. For those reasons, the time and effort required for a pre-bid meeting is valuable to both contractors and the city.
