(A) Effective July 1, 1995, the position of a part-time Supervisor in the Public Service Department is hereby established.
(B) Said position shall be classified as an exempt position for purposes of all applicable laws relating to benefits.
(C) The duties of the part-time Supervisor shall be as follows:
(1) Generally. Provide supervisory assistance to the Service Director, the Foreman and the Recycling Coordinator;
(2) Daily Duties.
(a) Set daily and weekly schedules for the mechanics, the custodian and Service Department recreation workers;
(b) Order materials and supplies for jobs being performed by the mechanics, custodian and Service Department recreation workers;
(c) Provide supervision to road crews or rubbish and recycling crews if the Foreman or the Recycling Coordinator is absent; and
(d) Provide periodic written reports.
(3) Suggested Procedure.
(a) Set up written communications with mechanics, the custodian and recreation employees, i.e., provide an in and out message box for each; and
(b) Check the completed jobs of the mechanics for completeness and quality.
(D) The work schedule of the part-time Supervisor will be as determined by the Director of Public Service, based upon availability.
(E) The part-time Supervisor shall be compensated at an hourly rate as determined from time to time by Council. The part-time Supervisor shall not be entitled to any other benefits by virtue of his or her employment as part-time Supervisor in the Department of Public Service.
(F) This position shall be abolished within six months of the date that the Supervisor position is staffed full time.
