§ 248.05 PART-TIME EMPLOYEES.
   (A)   Part-time employees in the Department of Public Service shall not be entitled to any additional benefits other than the payroll compensation provided for by Council and shall be limited to performing services for no more than 35 hours per week.
   (B)   Notwithstanding anything else contained in this section, any part-time custodian employed as of the effective date of this section (Ordinance 183-97, passed November 24, 1997) shall receive compensation for all holidays listed below. Payment shall be based on a four-hour day, provided that upon termination as a part-time custodian, this exception shall abate. This section shall not be construed to grant the aforesaid vacation compensation to any part-time employee hired subsequent to the effective date of this section:
      (1)   New Year’s Day;
      (2)   Martin Luther King Day;
      (3)   Thanksgiving Day;
      (4)   Employee Birthday;
      (5)   Good Friday;
      (6)   Memorial Day;
      (7)   Christmas Day;
      (8)   Independence Day;
      (9)   Labor Day; and
      (10)   Presidents’ Day.
   (C)   Compensation for part-time maintenance and part-time seasonal workers shall be as established from time to time by Council.
