(A) There is hereby created the position of Supervisor of Maintenance in the Department of Public Service.
(B) (1) The Supervisor of Maintenance shall have charge of all public works and construction thereof and of all inspections in connection therewith. He or she shall be responsible for the construction, improvement, repair and maintenance of streets, sidewalks, lanes and bridges; of sewers, sewerage systems, drains, ditches and culvert streams; and of all public places belonging to the city or dedicated to public use.
(2) He or she shall manage all public utilities of the city supported wholly or in part by taxation and shall enforce all obligations of privately owned or operated public utilities enforceable by the city.
(3) He or she shall have charge of the making and preserving of all surveys, maps, plans, drawings and estimates for public work; the cleaning, resurfacing, repairing, sprinkling and lighting of streets and public places; the collection and disposal of waste; and the preservation of all property belonging to the city and pertaining to the functions thereof.
(4) He or she shall perform such other duties as directed by the Director of Public Service.
